    This research is meant to describe the students’ understanding of Mathematics Concept related to non-routine problem in contour Shapes. This research is a qualitative research. The subject of this research are 25 students of fourth (VI) grade of SDN Mojorejo 02 Kota Batu. The data are collected through students’ response on a test given. Based on the result of this research shows that students are still unable to use Mathematics concept well in solving some problems (still tent to be procedural), students are still unable to compare by presenting alternative solution aside from response obtained, students’ mastery and understanding concept of Mathematics in solving non-routine questions are still low. Teachers are hoped to be able to provide non-routine questions in order to allow students to be accustomed with and develop ability in relation to problem solvin

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah pecahan. Jenis penelitian ini ialah penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan empat metode pengumpulan data, yaitu observasi, wawancara, tes tertulis, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas empat yang memiliki jenis kesalahan yang berbeda. Selanjutnya, uji keabsahan data dilakukan dengan teknik triangulasi sumber. Pada penelitian ini, kesalahan siswa dikelompokkan berdasarkan kategori kesalahan Newman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian  diperoleh bahwa setiap subjek penelitian melakukan kesalahan awal yang berbeda-beda. Kesalahan awal yang dilakukan subjek penelitian menyebabkan terjadinya kesalahan berikutnya pada tahapan kesalahan menurut Newman.     KEMAMPUAN METAKOGNITIF SISWA SMP DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL SISTEM PERSAMAAN LINEAR DUA VARIABEL

    The purpose of this research is to describe the metacognitive abilities of class VIII students in solving problems in SPLDV material. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used written tests and semi-structured interviews as subjects of the study in class VIII C students located at SMPN 2 Wuluhan, Jember Regency. Subject data obtained 3 categories of metacognitive abilities which include, categories of high metacognitive abilities, categories of moderate metacognitive abilities, and categories of low metacognitive abilities. The categories of high metacognitive abilities include awareness activities, regulatory activities, and evaluation activities. In the category of moderate metacognitive abilities, there are awareness activities although they are not complete, there are regulatory activities although some do not use a planning strategy, and there are also evaluation activities although some have not been completed in problem solving. In the category of low metacognitive abilities, there are awareness activities, although some do not write completely, there are regulatory activities, although only a few solve questions without a planning strategy, and there is no evaluation activity

    ABSTRAKDusun Krajan RT.001 RW.002 yang merupakan mitra pada kegiatan pengabdian ini terletak di Desa Ampel Kecamatan Wuluhan Kabupaten Jember. Sumber energi listrik pada wilayah ini berasal dari Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) tanpa memanfaatkan sumber energi yang lain. Hal ini menyebabkan aktivitas warga menjadi terganggu saat terjadi pemadaman listrik. Padahal wilayah ini memiliki intensitas cahaya matahari yang cukup tinggi sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber energi listrik dengan menggunakan panel surya. Namun warga masih belum memanfaatkan potensi ini dikarenakan kurangnya pengetahuan terkait panel surya. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka tim pengabdian memberikan solusi terhadap permasalahan mitra dengan memberikan pengetahuan terkait panel surya dan melakukan instalasi panel surya. Instalasi panel surya akan di tempatkan di Musholla Annur yang merupakan salah satu fasilitas umum di wilayah mitra. Instalasi panel surya ini digunakan sebagai sumber energi untuk penerangan dan speaker musholla sehingga aktivitas di musholla dapat terus tetap berjalan seperti biasanya meskipun sedang terjadi pemadaman listrik PLN. Panel surya yang telah terpasang adalah sebesar 50 Wp, dengan media penyimpanan berupa aki berkapasitas 48 Ah. Berdasarkan hasil ujicoba, sistem instalasi panel surya dapat bekerja dengan baik dengan tegangan yang ditunjukkan adalah sebesar 14,7 V. Kata kunci: cahaya matahari; instalasi; panel surya; penerangan. ABSTRACTDusun Krajan RT.001 RW.002, partner in this community service, is located in Ampel Village, Wuluhan District, Jember Regency. The source of electrical energy in this area is PLN without utilizing other energy sources. This causes the activities to be disrupted when there is a power outage. Whereas this area has a fairly high intensity of sunlight so that it can be used as a source of electrical energy by using solar panels. However, residents still have not utilized this potential due to lack of knowledge regarding solar panels. Based on this, the service team provides solutions to partner problems by providing knowledge related to solar panels and installing solar panels. The solar panel installation will be placed in the Annur Mosque which is one of the public facilities in the partner area. This solar panel installation is used as an energy source for the lighting and speaker so that activities in the mosque can continue as usual even though there is a PLN power outage. The installed solar panel is 50 Wp with battery capacity of 48 Ah. Based on test results, the solar panel installation system can work well with the indicated voltage of 14.7 V. Keywords: sunlight; installation; solar panels; lighting

    UPAYA PENANAMAN KETERAMPILAN LITERASI PADA MASA PANDEMI COVID-19 DI SDN MANGGISAN 03

    Abstrak: Pandemi COVID-19 di Indonesia bermula pada tahun 2020. Adanya peningkatan kasus COVID-19 membuat pemerintah mengeluarkan surat edaran tentang pembelajaran secara daring dan bekerja dari rumah. Dampak pandemi tersebut membuat beberapa peserta didik seperti SDN Manggisan 03 Jember mengalami penurunan kemampuan literasi. Upaya Pemerintah untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan program “Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka”. Program ini menugaskan mahasiswa terpilih dari seluruh Indonesia untuk membantu guru dalam proses kegiatan belajar mengajar. Salah satu bentuk pengabdian mahasiswa adalah program literasi yang menerapkan metode pembelajaran yang menyenangkan bagi peserta didik di sekolah dasar. Tujuan program lietasi ini sebagai langkah pembiasaan dan stimulus pada penguasaan literasi dalam proses pembelajaran, serta memotivasi minat baca peserta didik melalui media yang dikembangkan dan video pembelajaran yang diputarkan di dalam kelas saat sebelum memulai pelajaran ataupun sesudah pelajaran usai. Hasil kegiatan program ini berjalan dengan baik dan sesuai yang diharapkan melalui beberapa kegiatan diantaranya membaca buku cerita/pengayaan pelajaran, memilih buku bacaan yang disukai, mengoleksi buku bacaan yang baik, penguasaan literasi mata pelajaran, pemanfaatan lingkungan sekitar sekolah.Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia began in 2020. The increase in COVID-19 cases has made the government issue a circular on online learning and working from home. The impact of the pandemic has made some students such as SDN Manggisan 03 Jember experience a decrease in literacy skills. The Government's efforts to solve this problem are with the "Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka" program. This program assigns selected students from all over Indonesia to assist teachers in the process of teaching and learning activities. One form of student service is a literacy program that applies fun learning methods for students in elementary school. The purpose of this lietasi program is as a step of habituation and stimulus to mastery of literacy in the learning process, as well as motivating students' interest in reading through developed media and learning videos that are played in the classroom before starting the lesson or after the lesson is over. The results of this program activity went well and as expected through several activities includingreading storybooks/enrichment lessons, choosing preferred reading books, collecting good reading books, mastering subject literacy, utilizing the environment around the school

    This study aims to analyze student errors in resolving word problems, which are then formulated into characteristics of student errors according to gender. The subject selection was done randomly from male and female students of grade VII who made mistakes in solving the questions. Research data from the test results of 2 items word problem type. The form of student error is based on misconceptions, procedures, and techniques. The results showed the students' misconceptions, don’t understand question commands, do not write information correctly, misinterpret question information, do not simplify fractions correctly, do not understand the value of fractions, misunderstand number signs/symbols and do not understand number signs/symbols, incorrectly determine signs/symbols of operations. Procedural error, incorrectly determining the settlement operation Technical errors, incorrectly using calculation operation marks, incorrectly performing calculation operations, incomplete settlement steps, incomplete simplification, incorrect simplification. Technical errors, namely calculations are not in accordance with the command, less careful (careless) writing answers, errors in writing answers and it do not match the command questions (conclusion). The reason is not understanding the reading and not being familiar with the questions. Students' understanding and knowledge of reading have an important role in identifying, interpreting, and even selecting or determining completion strategies

    Transisi Representasi Simbolik-Pictorial dalam Menyelesaikan Masalah Matematika

    The purpose of this study is to describe the transition process of symbolic-pictorial representation in solving mathematical problems. Data collection is done by giving written questions which are then followed by structured interviews. The subjects in this study involved seventh grade students who were selected with the consideration that the answers could provide a representations transition process. The results of this study indicate two representations transition processes, namely pictorial to symbolic and symbolic to pictorial. The pictorial-symbolic representation, starting with translating the problem information into the form of an image illustration through the difference in size and number of cakes, integrating the illustrations made through calculations by partitioning them into several equal parts using cutting lines as a modification/simplification process. Symbolic-pictorial representation, shown by finding the key to the problem "cakes are given evenly to 20 people" and translating the information into the form of calculations, then transforms by simplifying the calculation results based on the problem key, the results are translated into an illustrated circle-shaped image which is modified by partitioning it into several parts. The representation relationship shown through the form of symbolic calculations with picture illustrations has the same solution or not. Thus, the difference in the transition process of this representation is in the integration and translation stages of transformation and modification through changing physical forms (illustration of images) and symbols (calculations).Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menggambarkan proses transisi representasi simbolik-pictorial dalam penyelesaikan masalah matematika. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan soal tertulis yang dilanjutkan dengan wawancara terstruktur. Subjek pada penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas VII yang dipilih berdasarkan pertimbangan hasil jawaban siswa tersebut dapat memberikan proses transisi representasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan dua proses transisi representasi yaitu pictorial ke simbolik dan simbolik ke pictorial. Representasi pictorial-simbolik, dimulai dengan mentranslasikan informasi soal ke bentuk ilustrasi gambar melalui perbedaan ukuran dan banyaknya kue, mengintegrasikan ilustrasi yang dibuat melalui perhitungan dengan cara mempartisi menjadi beberapa bagian yang sama menggunakan garis-garis pemotongan sebagai proses modifikasi/penyederhanaan. Representasi simbolik-pictorial, ditunjukkan dengan menemukan kunci permasalahan “kue diberikan secara merata kepada  orang” dan mentranslasikan informasi ke bentuk perhitungan, kemudian mentransformasikan dengan menyederhanakan hasil perhitungan berdasarkan kunci permasalahan, hasilnya ditranslasikan ke bentuk ilustrasi gambar berbentuk lingkaran yang dimodifikasi dengan mempartisi menjadi beberapa bagian. Hubungan representasi yang ditunjukkan melalui bentuk perhitungan simbolik dengan ilustrasi gambar memiliki kesamaan solusi atau tidak. Dengan demikian perbedaan proses transisi representasi ini di tahap integrasi dan tranlasi pada transformasi dan modifikasi melalui pengubahan bentuk fisik (ilustrasi gambar) dan simbol-simbol (perhitungan)

    Identification of HOTS Problem Solving Ability of High School Students Using Two Tier Diagnostic

    The purpose of this study is to describe HOTS problem solving skills for high school students through the use of the 2nd Tier Diagnostic. The research is conducted using the descriptive qualitative method. SMAN Balung MIPA 4 Research subjects at Jember Regency Data Collection Techniques in the form of Written Test Questions and Semi-Structured Interviews Data on Problem Solving Skills using 5 Stages Krulick & Rudnick Stages Read and Think, Explore and plan, select a strategy, Find and Answer, Reflect and Extend. The Two Tier Diagnosis Method is composed of two stages. First, students write down how they get the answers, and second, they write down the reasons why they choose that method. The study showed that students with high mathematical problems solving skills were able to write mathematical symbols well, even write answers consistently, and write the final solution along with the question. Students with moderate abilities were unable to write the mathematical symbols well, and even wrote the stages of completion incorrectly, resulting in the majority of the final answers being wrong
